About

Ruoyan Pan is a Ph.D. student with a Master of Science in Transportation Engineering (GPA 91.96/100, Rank 1/32) and a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering (GPA 3.90/4.0) from Zhejiang University. Her research focuses on self-sensing cementitious composites, cement-based piezoresistive sensors, smart concrete structures, and structural health monitoring. She has published as first author in Sensors and Actuators A-Physical and ICES 2024, with additional SCI papers accepted and under review, and holds two invention patents and one software copyright. She is a recipient of the China National Scholarship and multiple Outstanding Student and Graduate honors at both university and provincial levels.

Research Interests: Interlayer Bonding, Self-sensing Cementitious Composites, Cement-based Sensors, Smart Concrete Structures, Structural Health Monitoring, Composite Structure.

  • Participated in one horizontal project (Construction Monitoring for Xiamen Third East Channel Project), one NSFC Young Scientist Fund Project (52408226), one 'Pioneer and Leading Goose' R&D Program of Zhejiang (2022C01143)
  • Assisted the supervisor to apply for one NSFC Young Scientist Fund Project (52408226), one Joint Fund Project of NSFC (U24A20169), two horizontal projects (KYY-512106-0032; KYY-512106-0009)
  • Designed and constructed a lab for the investigation of the piezoresistive properties of multifunctional concrete
  • Participated in 3 academic conferences (2 oral presentations)

Cable Force Optimization for Irregular Cable-Stayed Bridges
